Having the responsibility of being a surety in the province of Ontario is a serious and important role. A surety becomes responsible for a person accused of a crime. When it comes to whether or not a surety has to pay bail, in Canada, a surety usually has to pledge a sum of money as a guarantee.
In most cases that money does not have to paid in court.
