What should I wear to court?

You should dress for court as you would for the most important job interview of your life.  It is important to present the best image you can to the court, prosecutor, judge and jury.  Do not wear torn jeans, sweatpants, tank tops, shorts or flip flops.  Your future and your liberty are at stake.  Courts are naturally conservative.  By dressing in a traditional and modest manner, you are demonstrating to the court that you are treating this with the utmost respect and seriousness.    Although we are taught from a young age not to judge a book by its cover, it is only human for the court to look differently at an accused person who is wearing a shirt, tie and pressed pants than one wearing dirty jeans, a crop top or muscle T-shirt and baseball cap.
